What the enquiry form collects
If you send an enquiry, the form collects: what you need help with, how many people live at the property, the type of system, your name, phone number, email address, the first line of the property address, the postcode, and a description of the work you need doing. It also records that you ticked the consent box and the address of the page you sent it from. The form does not take payments or file uploads, so please do not put bank details or identity numbers in that description.
How it is used
Your enquiry is sent to Better Home Hub (betterhomehub.co.uk), which finds up to 3 local septic tank specialists who cover your area and passes your details to them so they can contact you with a quote. Passing your details to those companies relies on the consent you give with the tickbox. Companies pay Better Home Hub a fee when it introduces them, so the service is free for you. Better Home Hub also keeps limited technical records to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
How long it is kept
Better Home Hub keeps enquiry records for up to 24 months after an enquiry is closed, as set out in its privacy policy, then deletes or anonymises them. Details are encrypted in transit.
Your rights and contact
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@betterhomehub.co.uk or privacy@betterhomehub.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
